What has the Development
Trust got planned for 2007?
NEW SITE UNDER CONSTRUCTION - KEEP CHECKING FOR REGULAR UPDATES
We are often asked
this question. We have identified the following as our key actions for the rest
of the year and into 2007.
We will be:
- Working in partnership
with others such as the Forestry Commission and other groups to ensure the
maximum enjoyment of the colliery site by planning events to make the site
a relevant and important leisure facility for the community
- Adult Community Training
- we will be running new certified courses for adults wishing to further their
personal develop in computing. Each course will run for 10 weeks and we expect
a minimum of 8 learners per course. Courses will include digital imaging,
basic skills and many more - please use the contact us page to discuss other
training opportunities.
- Promoting Kivo-Ebiz one
of our social enterprise activities which helps individuals to sell their
unwanted items on Ebay for a small percentage of the sale price
- Researching Kiveton Park
and Wales history in co-ordination with the Heritage Lottery Fund and working
with individuals from the community to help develop this research further
- Delivering the Community
Matters newsletter to each home in Kiveton Park and Wales
- Hosting the kivetonpark.com
website
- Working with others to
secure the development and re-opening of the Chesterfield Canal into the colliery
site
- Negotiating with Renaissance
South Yorkshire to secure the ownership of the Old Colliery Offices on behalf
of the community
- Assisting more groups
to set up new businesses and opportunities for jobs
- Providing a range of
resources such as meeting rooms for community groups
- Doing more web site design
and maintenance for community groups and other clients in the area and further
afield
- Continuing to manage
the Old Colliery Offices as managed offices for small businesses and community
groups
- Working in partnership
with the Parish Council and others to turn the Village Plan into work and
projects that will make a difference
- Developing and carrying
out other projects that the community wish us to do
